Starting an Amazon business is an exciting yet challenging endeavour. Many aspiring sellers face hurdles such as navigating Amazon's complex seller account setup, conducting effective product research, and managing cash flow, especially when initial investments precede returns.
Additionally, the platform's high competition, strict product guidelines, and customer-friendly return policies can pose significant obstacles.
Understanding these challenges is crucial for setting realistic expectations and developing strategies to overcome them. In this blog, inspired by our comprehensive video guide, our expert walks you through a step-by-step process to launch your Amazon business, addressing common pain points and providing practical solutions to help you succeed.
If you wanna start an online business on Amazon, then this might just be a golden opportunity for you. You can start a business with very little investment, right from your home.
In this episode, I will guide you on how to start your online business on Amazon and become successful. Everything will be covered, from setting up your seller account to product listing, marketing tips, and ways to earn more profit.
Welcome to Seekho official show, E-commerce Business.
Amazon currently has over 15 lakh sellers who earn 50,000-1,50,000 rupees every month.
To become a seller on Amazon, you must have a product that has some market relevance. If you do not have a product ready, then you can source it from places like Alibaba and Indiamart.
To become a seller on Amazon, start by creating an account on the Amazon Seller Central website. You can either sign in with an existing Amazon account or create a new one.
Next, choose your selling plan: the Individual plan for occasional sellers, which charges a fee per sale, or the Professional plan for high-volume sellers, which comes with a monthly fee.
After selecting your plan, provide necessary business details such as your name, address, and contact information, along with bank and tax details, including your GST information if applicable.
Then, add your products by listing them with accurate titles, descriptions, prices, and high-quality images.
You can either manage shipping yourself (Fulfilled by Merchant - FBM) or let Amazon handle it through their Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) service.
When using FBA, sellers ship their products to warehouses run by Amazon, and Amazon handles storage, packaging, shipping, and customer service. This option offers benefits like Prime eligibility and scalability.
On the other hand, with FBM, sellers manage their own inventory, packaging, and shipping directly to customers, offering more control and potentially lower costs. FBA is ideal for those looking for convenience and growth, while FBM gives sellers more flexibility and control over their fulfillment process.
Once your listings are live, optimise them with relevant keywords and images to attract customers. You can use Amazon Ads, customer reviews, and social media marketing to market your products on Amazon. Amazon Ads allows you to boost product visibility by running targeted ads, such as Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands, to reach potential customers.
Customer reviews are essential for establishing trust and credibility—encouraging happy customers to share positive feedback can boost your product's ranking and draw in more buyers.
Additionally, social media marketing helps drive traffic to your Amazon listings by promoting your products on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, where you can engage with a wider audience and increase brand awareness. These marketing strategies combined can significantly enhance your product's visibility and sales.
